If you have been following our project you will know that, over the last few weeks, we have asked a series of questions on social media. They have all been directed at occupational therapists (OTs) in their first year of practice. They have focused on exploring how that first year of practice has impacted on people’s wellbeing. The question we posed this week is, “What secret thing did you find most challenging about year one?”

Because it is a secret we’ve designed a postcard that can be downloaded  and emailed to us in private. This is what it looks like and we would love to hear from you.

It might be something as simple as entering a room full of strangers, understanding acronyms or talking to people you’d never normally meet. Maybe dealing with a question you don’t know the answer, dealing with a challenging client or colleague or voicing something you feel strongly about when everyone else seems to have the opposite view.

As you can see from the picture we’ve kept it brief.  Think holiday postcard rather than essay. You know the kind of thing, ‘Having a lovely time however …………………”

Whatever your challenge has been or is we would love to hear from you.  It is through people like you sharing that  we can understand the kinds of issues we need to provide support with as we move into developing our self-coaching resource.

You can download the postcard from here : postcard

and email it back to us at year.one.ot@gmail.com.
