The Year One Thriving Not Surviving project is focused on creating a self-coaching resource to support the wellbeing of newly qualified occupational therapists. The project is funded by the Elizabeth Casson Trust and you can find out more about how they can support your development here. Over the last few months the project team have been asking lots of questions on our social media channels. They have written blogs about their experience of being in their first year of practice. We have set up a closed Facebook group and got input from many people. If you would like to find out more about the project you can read the background here.
We are now in the process of writing the resource. While we are doing this we are also looking to build a community of critical friends to support the final stage of the project. This is your chance to be part of a great project.
What is a critical friend?
- Someone either in their first year of practice or who has recently completed it.
- It’s someone prepared to give up their time to reading the pocket guides we are creating.
- A person able to work to a realistic deadline.
- Importantly, someone able to give constructive feedback on the relevance of the material.
Why take part?
- You will be making a contribution to something that will support the wellbeing of future generations of newly qualified occupational therapists
- It’s an opportunity to develop your skills in reviewing someone else’s work
- It is something you can add to your CV and we will provide a relevant letter that can be included in your HCPC portfolio.
